Yes, we can sell each component separately.
What is this box made for?
Its purpose are two, first it convert the copper ribbons coming out from the module to cable and connectors, second, it protects the module from the so called “hot spot” phenomenon.
What is hot spot?
Hot Spot is when a part of the module gets shaded from the sun and that particular cell does not produce current anymore. At such point that cell starts to work as a resistance, and thus becomes hot, sometimes so hot it will break down. In the junction box there are diodes that can prevent this to happen by letting the current bypass this particular section of the module which have this cell.
 What kind of diodes does Sunbolts use?
Our box is equipped with 2 type of diodes certified by TUV.
For 4 rail junction box:
- Diotec F1200D 200V 12A for module with ISC <= 6A
- Diotec SB1240 40V 12A for module with ISC <= 8.5A
- Diotec SB1540 40V 15A for module with ISC <= 11A.
For 6 rail junction box:
- Diotec SB 1240 40V 12A for module with ISC <= 8.5A.
- Diotec SB 1540 40V 15A for module with ISC <= 9A.
Rated current for the 4mm2 cable is 25A which is intended for Silicon-base, rated current for 2.5mm2 is 15A which is good for Thin-film.

What’s with the two sizes of the box?
The small one can be delivered with 3-4 rails while the bigger one comes with 6
rails
- 3 rail for 4-6 arrays module
- 4 rail for 6 arrays module
- 6 rail for 8 arrays module

The patent, what is it?
The patent (currently pending) we have is for the copper ribbon locking mechanism. This mechanism enables the assembler to connect the copper ribbon to the junction box without a tool. This connection can handle copper ribbon with a maximum width of 8.0mm and a maximum thickness of 0.3mm.
 Do we have a tool for the box?
Yes, we have a tool that can open the box, open the springs so the cables can be dismounted. It can also be used to screw the bolts together when mounting the connectors to the box and/or cable.
