 Solar panels are usually arranged in bigger installations. In these arrangements it is more common with serial connection then parallel mainly because current will stay the same while the voltage increases over every module in serial mode, see figure 1. The benefit of increasing the voltage instead of the current is that with more current the more energy losses are made. However in some solar installations there is need for parallel connection because the voltage added up in the string have reach the limit for the system, usually those installations is made up of a serial string of modules in parallel with another serial string of modules of the same size, see figure 2.
In order to achieve this there is need for a branch connector to connect the two strings.
